First Performance: Benedict and I exchanged phone calls at the height of the Coronavirus pandemic - April 3rd 2020. I was in London and he was in Paris. As he was ringing off he asked if I might be interested in writing a solo cello piece and I said I would.  He seemed very pleased and this encouraged me to start work immediately. I finished it on 6th April and sent it by PDF to him in Paris. He has promised to work at it and send me a recording. I await developments! (9th April)
